“How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin.”
– Ronald Reagan

With roots emanating from the ideology of the Marxist/Leninist Era, the American Fifth Column presents a menace from within, a threat to the longevity of our uniquely American way of life. These roots, nurtured and further developed during the counter-culture revolution of the of the 1960s and 1970s and now taught in classrooms across America as “tolerance,” "multiculturalism" and "diversity" have evolved into a unique yet visionless ideology, which holds that our most basic constitutional tenets are the central cause for many of the social ills here in the United States and around the world.

The Secular Progressive, Democratic Socialist and/or neo-Marxist American Fifth Column ideology embraces the philosophies of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin. It is a product of the Frankfort School of pre-World War II Germany and employs the democratic process to promote moral relativism, multiculturalism and political correctness, in an effort to silence fundamental American ideals and pursue an American form of socialism in their place.

This system of beliefs serves not only to grotesquely blur the lines between good and evil, bad behavior and civic responsibility, it goes to great lengths to negate the concepts all together.

The Secular Progressive ideology promotes the utilization of an artificially created sense of self-esteem within our children while striving to denigrate the notion of individualism in deference to the group-think mentality, or the “it takes a village” philosophy, leaving them ill-prepared for the competitive world in which we live, and dependents of a state unable to compete at all.

The precepts of the American Fifth Column work to eliminate the benefits and rewards of a competition based free market society by instituting the notion that absolute socio-economic equality can be attained through government mandated entitlement and control, usurping the freedom of choice and alienating our constitutionally mandated individual liberty to define and pursue happiness.

Basics Project is currently creating a program that examines and chronicles the derivation, establishment and progressive promotion of the American Fifth Column and identifying key initiatives which pose a very real threat to our country and our American Heritage.

From its history and influences, to the modern methods employed to advance the ideology, to the natural consequences of a society that embraces progressive moral relativism and multiculturalism, Basics Project is exploring the many challenges associated with creating a comprehensive research and education program designed to enlighten the American people on the threats posed by an ideology antithetical to the principles of our Democratic Republic.
